What Are MarketApps ?
Cambium’s MarketApps are advanced microservices-based applications aimed at maximizing the value of Cambium deployments. Available as browser-based or mobile-based solutions, these apps are tailored to specific use cases and are integrated with Cambium’s cnMaestro™ Network Management platform. MarketApps can be used by cnMaestro users and end users, or it can be integrated with third-party applications via APIs.
These apps are designed to:

Two New MarketApps for Multi-Dwelling Environments
Network administrators understand the difficulties in managing Wi-Fi in multi-dwelling units (MDU), RV parks, and dorms. Providing connectivity for all residents while handling administrative tasks can be challenging. With this release, we focus on multi-dwelling environments with two easy-to-use apps. Property managers can directly manage Wi-Fi access in units or, with an even simpler approach, end users can create their own VLAN with personal Wi-Fi. This new suite includes two apps specifically designed to tackle these problems, making Wi-Fi management simpler while improving the resident experience.
cnMaestro is the only solution that lets you directly manage a resident’s Wi-Fi without using complex API integrations on third-party software or the need to develop in-house management tools for your property’s Wi-Fi managers.
Cambium Networks’ latest release introduces two specialized MarketApps designed for ePSK management in multi-dwelling environments:
- Managed Wi-Fi
- Self-Service Personal Wi-Fi
1. Managed Wi-Fi
The Managed Wi-Fi app provides property managers with a comprehensive platform for overseeing and managing Wi-Fi networks across their properties. This app supports:
Community Wi-Fi: Enables property managers to create and manage a single SSID for all residents within the property. This ensures a unified network experience.
Personal Wi-Fi: Allows residents to set up and manage their own unique SSID within the property, offering a personalized Wi-Fi experience.
This dual approach helps property managers efficiently handle both community-wide and individual network needs.
The Managed Wi-Fi app offers property managers precise control over Wi-Fi management. The designated property managers can easily assign Wi-Fi units to residents, provide access to management portals, and manage unit statuses by suspending, extending, or terminating access.
2. Self-Service Personal Wi-Fi
The Self-Service Personal Wi-Fi app simplifies the process for tenants to create and manage their own personalized Wi-Fi networks. Here’s how it works:
- QR Code: Administrators provide tenants with a QR code.
- Access Portal: Scanning the QR code, tenants are redirected to a self-service portal to verify their email.
- Email Link: Tenants receive an email with a link to the Wi-Fi Manager App, allowing them to create their own SSID and password.
- Connect: Tenants use their newly created SSID to connect to their personalized Wi-Fi network.
This app gives tenants the flexibility to set up their own secure Wi-Fi network, similar to having a personal router, while seamlessly integrating with the property’s overall network.
What is Personal Wi-Fi?
Personal Wi-Fi leverages a unique SSID and security credentials based on ePSK for each tenant across all access points in their private residence. These credentials and security settings are extended throughout the property’s Wi-Fi network, ensuring that the user’s experience and security level remain consistent whether they are in their apartment or in public areas.
Once devices are onboarded, tenants benefit from ubiquitous connectivity and seamless roaming throughout the property. Personal Wi-Fi ensures robust security across community living environments, allowing devices—from game consoles to smart speakers and PCs—to operate on the same secure network and avoid interference from neighboring units.
Setting up Personal Wi-Fi is straightforward, involving just a request to the leasing office for the desired network name and onboarding devices from there.
