Disaster Tech Labs and Cambium Networks supply and equip refugee camps on the Greek island of Lesvos, offering Wi-Fi to help displaced Syrians locate loved ones and support services.
With backhaul and Wi-Fi solutions from Cambium Networks, DTL’s mission on Lesvos is to rapidly establish communications infrastructure and offer training to users with an IT background, enabling them to not only connect to, but also operate and maintain, the networks that offer vital connection to 18 camps across Greece.
Many incoming refugees are young people sent to seek safety ahead of their parents. Often they arrive with little more than their clothing and a smartphone, so getting them online and able to communicate with family members is essential for safety and wellbeing.
