Seamless wireless connectivity bring millions of viewers closer to the celebrated occasion.
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Nov. 5, 2024 – Cambium Networks (NASDAQ: CMBM), a leading global provider of networking solutions, announced its successful role in powering the live broadcast of the Lalbaugcha Raja procession during this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai. Observed with grandeur, Ganesh Chaturthi is one of India’s most revered festivals, and Lalbaugcha Raja, a 14-foot Ganesh idol, draws millions of devotees and tourists each year. Cambium Networks’ advanced wireless solutions enabled uninterrupted coverage of this grand event, enabling viewers worldwide to join in the celebrations.
This year, Cambium Networks provided key infrastructure to ensure flawless live coverage as the idol made its journey through Mumbai and into the Arabian Sea for the traditional visarjan (immersion). Two critical elements highlighted Cambium’s contribution:
- Media Vehicle to Roadside AP Connectivity: A media vehicle moving alongside the truck carrying the idol transmitted live video feeds to Cambium Networks’ XV2-2T0 Wi-Fi 6 Access Points. This network covered a 6.5 km stretch, with access points strategically deployed along the procession route to ensure uninterrupted coverage. Cambium’s advanced meshing algorithm enabled the seamless connectivity as the procession progressed across individual access points coverage footprint.
- Sea to Shore Connectivity: For the immersion ceremony, the idol was taken 1.5 km into the sea. Cambium’s PMP 450 technologies, deployed on the boat, provided real-time communication, sending live video feeds back to shore.
Throughout the festival, millions of devotees across various media platforms, including YouTube and other social channels, were able to witness the procession in real time.
Mr. Jaydeep Sampat, CTO, NXT Media Group, expressed his gratitude for the wireless infrastructure provider’s flawless support throughout the event. “Cambium Networks’ meticulous planning and execution, in collaboration with ONE Broadband, ensured an exceptional network experience. The team at Cambium exceeded expectations, delivering a seamless broadcast experience for millions of viewers worldwide.”
Cambium Networks worked closely with the team at ONE Broadband to deliver a temporary network in record time. Within the week, including the 24 hours needed for deployment, the live broadcast began, providing uninterrupted coverage of the 36-hour long procession.
Designed as a private network solution, the network was made exclusively accessible to the media crew, enabling them to transmit video feeds. The temporary infrastructure was immediately dismantled, following the event’s closure.
