With Cambium Networks, Palazzo Viviani Brings Complete Coverage for Visitors

By Ray Savich

Historic and palatial Palazzo Viviani, in the picturesque village of Montegridolfo in Italy’s central Rimini Province, deploys a customized Cambium Networks cnPilot™ solution to offer high performance Wi-Fi to hotel guests and village visitors.

The Palazzo’s communications infrastructure required a complete redesign to support contemporary demand for guest access, secure Wi-Fi for administrative applications, public Internet for Montegridolfo’s tourists – all with high enough capacity to easily support the user density of conferences and events at the popular destination.

With the help of local systems integrator Eurocom Innovazione, solutions from Cambium Networks cnPilot™ portfolio were selected. For the outdoor areas, three cnPilot e501S Enterprise Outdoor access points were installed, with 24 e400 Enterprise Indoor APs to cover the indoor areas – all capable of managing up to 256 simultaneous users each. With the accompanying network management system cnMaestro™, the network was configured into separate systems with authentication separating guest traffic from administrative traffic, ensuring high performance and increased network security for each.

The upgraded system easily covers all of Viviani’s guest rooms, as well as the extensive grounds and facilities: the Agrumaia breakfast hall, the Palazzo’s 8-room pool outbuilding, Casina della Fontana, Osteria Restaurant and its terrace, and the Conference Hall. Montegridolfo’s visitors can enjoy uninterrupted connection while strolling throughout the whole village, and the entire system also supports a video surveillance system to promote public safety throughout the sprawling coverage area.
