Cambium Networks Connects for Response and Rescue

By Cambium Networks

For the dramatic rescue of a youth soccer team and their coach from a flooded cave system in a rural park in Thailand, local technology distributor KING IT and WISP 3BB select cnPilot™ solutions to establish vital communications infrastructure.

From the day that the boys and their chaperon disappeared, two weeks of increasingly complex coordination of various teams from around the world would ensue, relying heavily on connectivity for communication, planning, and media coverage of the events. Not only did first responders and other aid personnel require Wi-Fi for their devices, but also constant contact with the families and community was amongst the highest priorities.

With a fiber backhaul, cnPilot Wi-Fi distribution, and end-to-end management with cnMaestro™ cloud-based controller, the network established at the cave mouth covered an expanding rescue camp bustling with aid workers, divers, journalists, volunteers, and the lost youths’ families – ensuring that the personnel and resources necessary for the recovery efforts reached the site quickly.
