Changing a Young Person’s Life with a Bicycle

Giving Back to the Community is one of the core values at Cambium Networks. Being a global company, each of our locations engages with the local community to make a difference. This year, team members in our Rolling Meadows office assembled 50 bicycles to donate to children in the greater Chicago area. Working with the Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade Organization, the bicycles will be included with thousands of other donations collected in their annual Motorcycle Parade.

The City of Chicago, at its City Council meeting, proclaims the first Sunday in December Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade Day. Now in its 42nd year, the Chicagoland Motorcycle Parade is the largest contributor to the United States Marine Corps Foundation in the country. Drawing 30,000 or more riders each year, the parade is the world’s largest and longest motorcycle parade, covering 20 miles and uniting the City’s South side and North side. Cambium Networks is glad to participate in this annual event – rain, snow or sunshine.

Cambium Networks team members donated their time and talents to assemble the bicycles. We are thankful for the many good things in our lives and seek to share with those who are less fortunate. With team members from all areas of the company working together with wrenches, all 50 bicycles were ready for their new owners in a matter of three hours.

To a child, a bicycle is a significant gift. The bike gives them the freedom to explore their world and the responsibility of maintenance. It exercises the body and mind while teaching mechanics. Receiving one’s first bike is a moment that can change a young person’s life, and we are glad to provide that moment for children in the local community.
